In order to provide quality produce and meats, we use draft horses to farm our land. It's a slow and primitive process, but it allows us the peace of mind knowing that there are no fuel residues in our soil. Our horses and our mule - Big Jim - are the life blood of Rose Mountain Farm and earn their keep ten fold over.  The Percheron draft horse is a gentle giant with a willing heart. They are docile and easy to handle.  Sassy, our Quarter Horse, has been a part of our family for 18 years, and is a fixture in our pasture.  She is our riding horse for those days when we need a vacation.
